About Tony:

I grew up in Croton, New York and graduated from American University in 1969. I moved to Vermont in 1972 and married Jennifer Boyer in 1973. We built a house in Cabot and after 12 years we moved to East Montpelier in 1986. We had our daughter Jesse in 1976 and son Tim in 1984. My wife Jennifer owns Thistle Hill Pottery.
My first job in Vermont was with the Youth Service Bureau. During that time I started the statewide Youth Diversion program, which continues today. I have worked in various marketing and sales jobs in local companies such as Hutchins Roofing, Blue Flame Gas and WNCS Radio. I also had my own marketing consulting business and have been a lobbyist for Washington Electric Coop. I ran for the Vermont State Representatives (Middlesex and East Montpelier) and won in 2002. I was re-elected in 2004.
I have enjoyed working on various community boards, including the East Montpelier Elementary school board from 1986-2002, and the U-32 school board from 1995-2003.
I have coached elementary school sports teams in basketball, baseball Little League, and ice hockey. From 1994 to 2001 I was the girl's varsity field hockey coach at U-32. We tied for the championship during my first season. Now I keep in touch with field hockey by being a referee!
